Automation Anywhere (RPA) Developer

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

Key Responsibilities

· Engage with business analysts and process owners to understand business rules, process variations, inputs, outputs, service levels, and exception scenarios.

· Assess candidate processes for automation feasibility, complexity, risk, expected value, and operational readiness.

· Design Automation Anywhere solutions using clear modular structures, reusable components, configuration standards, and defined exception paths.

· Develop attended and unattended bots using Automation Anywhere A360 or the applicable enterprise platform version.

· Automate interactions with web applications, desktop applications, spreadsheets, files, email, databases, APIs, and approved enterprise systems.

· Implement validation, logging, audit trails, credential handling, retry logic, notifications, and business and system exception management.

· Prepare and maintain process design, solution design, configuration, test, deployment, support, and operational documents.

· Perform unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and defect resolution; support business users during user acceptance testing.

· Package and deploy automations through governed development, test, and production environments in coordination with platform and infrastructure teams.

· Monitor production bots, investigate failures, complete root-cause analysis, and deliver fixes and preventive improvements.

· Use source control and release-management practices to maintain traceability and quality across automation versions.

· Contribute reusable assets, coding standards, peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the automation practice.

· Follow client and organizational requirements for security, privacy, compliance, access control, and segregation of duties.

· Report delivery progress, risks, dependencies, bot health, automation outcomes, and support trends to relevant stakeholders.

Hands-on bot development using Automation Anywhere A360 or Enterprise; Control Room familiarity; attended and unattended automation; scheduling and workload execution.

• Process decomposition, modular workflow design, reusable components, configuration-driven development, exception frameworks, and recovery design.
• Web, desktop, Excel, file, email, PDF, terminal, and legacy application automation, subject to project requirements.
• REST or SOAP services, database connectivity, enterprise application integration, and API-based automation where available.
• Working knowledge of SQL and at least one scripting or programming technology such as Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, VBScript, Java, or .NET.
• Unit, integration, regression, and UAT support; test evidence; peer review; defect management; coding and documentation standards.
• Bot monitoring, incident analysis, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, deployment support, performance optimization, and production stabilization.
• Credential vaulting, least-privilege access, secure configuration, audit logging, sensitive-data handling, and avoidance of hard-coded secrets.
• Agile or Scrum delivery, SDLC controls, version control, work-item tracking, and release management.

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

· Hands-on experience developing and supporting enterprise automation solutions using Automation Anywhere.

· Experience with process analysis, technical design, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.

· Automation Anywhere certification is preferred when required by the role or client engagement.

· Experience with intelligent document processing, OCR, Microsoft Power Platform, UiPath, Blue Prism, or cloud services is advantageous where relevant to the engagement.
