SAP AI Technical Consultant
Job Description:
Identify, assess, and implement AI use cases within SAP business processes, applications, and enterprise environments.
Design and develop AI-enabled solutions using SAP Business AI capabilities and SAP BTP services.
Develop and integrate applications leveraging SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub, and other relevant SAP AI services, where appropriate.
Integrate Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities into SAP applications and business processes using appropriate APIs, SDKs, and SAP BTP services.
Develop AI-powered extensions and side-by-side applications on SAP BTP, following clean core and modern extensibility principles.
Build integrations between SAP systems, SAP BTP, AI services, and external systems using APIs, REST/OData services, events, and integration technologies.
Work with SAP data and business objects to prepare, consume, and enrich data for AI-powered scenarios.
Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector search, and knowledge-based AI solutions where relevant to business requirements.
Evaluate and integrate external AI/ML services and models with SAP environments when SAP-native capabilities do not fully address the business requirement.
Develop prototypes and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to demonstrate the feasibility and business value of AI use cases.
Assess existing SAP applications and processes to identify opportunities for automation, intelligent assistance, prediction, classification, summarization, and other AI-driven capabilities.
Analyse and provide solutions (workarounds, fixes, root-cause analysis) to incidents and technical issues affecting AI-enabled SAP solutions.
Ensure AI solutions meet requirements related to security, data privacy, scalability, reliability, and responsible AI.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate AI concepts into maintainable, production-ready SAP solutions.
Participate in SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP implementation, transformation, and clean core projects involving AI and intelligent automation.
Handle other relevant tasks within the scope of SAP technical and AI support services for the client.
Experience Required
4+ years of experience in SAP development, consulting, integration, or technical implementation, with significant exposure to SAP BTP and/or SAP Business AI.
Hands-on experience with SAP BTP and familiarity with its core services and development environments.
Practical experience implementing or integrating AI/ML or Generative AI solutions within SAP or enterprise environments.
Good understanding of Generative AI concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases/search, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Experience integrating AI services and models through APIs, SDKs, or cloud services.
Experience with SAP Business AI capabilities and/or SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub, or related SAP AI technologies.
Good understanding of SAP S/4HANA and SAP business processes, with the ability to identify suitable AI use cases within an SAP landscape.
Experience with programming and development technologies such as Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, or ABAP.
Experience with REST APIs, OData, JSON, and cloud-based integration technologies.
Understanding of SAP BTP architecture, including Cloud Foundry and relevant BTP services.
Understanding of security, authentication, authorization, and data protection considerations when implementing AI solutions.
Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into technical AI solutions.
Nice to Have
Experience with SAP AI Core, AI Launchpad, Generative AI Hub, or SAP Joule-related technologies.
Experience with SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), SAPUI5/Fiori, or ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
Experience with hyperscalerAI services such as Microsoft Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Cloud Vertex AI.
Experience with Python-based AI/ML frameworks and libraries.
Experience with vector databases, vector search technologies, or knowledge graphs.
Experience implementing AI agents, agentic workflows, or tool/function-calling solutions.
Experience with SAP Integration Suite, API Management, Event Mesh, or other SAP BTP integration services.
Experience with Git-based development, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation projects.
Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI, model evaluation, and AI security.
SAP certifications relevant to SAP BTP, SAP Business AI, AI/ML, or SAP development.
