Law Clerk

Job Description

The role of the Law Clerk/Admin Assistant Town Agency Department: to be part of a team that covers court attendance, filing documents in the various courts, lodging books, probate, summons service, tracing and lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

Working with team members to organise court diaries and attend court to make applications on consent and/or attend on barrister

Checking and lodging documents in various courts

Completing forms and checking of papers for lodging in Probate

Issue of summons to agents for service with follow up drafting of affidavits

Training & development across all teams

Manage queries and complaints – speed/quality of resolution

Continuous improvement focus/mindset

Maintain Client Experience standards at desired levels

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

At least one year’s administrative experience, ideally within a corporate environment

Previous experience in the town agency industry (desirable but not essential)

A good understanding of some or all areas of town agency, including court attendance, document filing, summons service, probate, tracing and lifestyle (desirable but not essential)

The ability to establish, build and maintain trusting relationships at all levels

Good communication skills

The ability to multitask and manage and prioritise workflow

Good attention to detail
