Associate Principal Solution Architect

About the role

As Associate Principal Solution Architect, you own solution design for a significant portion of Dyson's Digital Commerce estate spanning D2C web, retail, and marketplace channels across 40+ global markets. Working closely with the Principal Solution Architect, you translate business and product requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures across Commerce, CRM, ERP, and omnichannel platforms.

You'll architect integration patterns across SAP Commerce, MuleSoft, S/4 HANA, Salesforce, and specialist platforms for payments, subscriptions, fraud, and identity always balancing innovation with governance, security, and operational resilience. This is a hands-on architecture role: you'll do the same class of work as Partner Solution Architects while building toward full ownership of a domain.

Collaboration is central to this role partnering with Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Business stakeholders across markets, mentoring Technical Architects, and contributing to Dyson's broader target-state architecture roadmap.

Key responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end omnichannel commerce solutions spanning D2C web (SAP Commerce Cloud, Magento 2), retail/in-store (POS), and marketplace channels.
• Define integration patterns API-first, event-driven, modular, cloud-native in partnership with the Integration Architecture team.
• Support Architecture in CRM touchpoints spanning Salesforce Service Cloud and SAP CRM, ensuring a single view of the customer across channels.
• Ensure architectural alignment with S/4 HANA for order-to-cash, inventory, and product/material master data flows.
• Support architecture for Payments, Subscription commerce, fraud prevention, marketplace, and CIAM/identity.
• Define and validate non-functional requirements: performance, scalability, security, resilience, and regulatory compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR).
• Lead or contribute to discovery workshops, architecture review boards, and cross-market impact assessments.
• Produce architecture decision records, solution blueprints, and design documentation to a consistent, reusable standard.
• Mentor Technical Architects and senior engineers; lead design reviews within the Commerce Architecture pillar.
• Act as a key technical interface between Product, Engineering, Delivery, Platform teams, and Business stakeholders across 20+ markets.
• Contribute to technology evaluations, RFPs, and platform governance forums.

About you

• Experienced solution architect (8-10+ years) with a track record designing and delivering enterprise-scale commerce or omnichannel solutions.
• Deep hands-on expertise in SAP Commerce Cloud (CCv2); working knowledge of adjacent platforms (Adobe Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify Plus, Commercetools) a plus.
• Good to have CRM architecture experience, particularly Salesforce Service Cloud; awareness of SAP CX, MS Dynamics, or ServiceNow a plus.
• Solid understanding of ERP integration patterns (SAP S/4 HANA), PIM/PLM concepts, and omnichannel retail/POS systems.
• Skilled in integration architecture (MuleSoft/API-led connectivity, event-driven design) and CIAM/identity patterns (ForgeRock, Okta, OAuth2/SSO).
• Confident communicator and natural collaborator, able to bridge business and engineering audiences and present to senior stakeholders.
• Structured, pragmatic, decision-oriented, and governance-aware working style.
• Experience working in global matrix organisations, including governance of third-party systems integrators.
• Track record mentoring and developing Technical Architects and senior engineers.
• Relevant certifications preferred: SAP Commerce Cloud (Developer/Architect), Salesforce Architect track, AWS or GCP Solutions Architect, TOGAF.
