Dyson is a technology company founded in 1991 by James Dyson after he built more than five thousand prototypes of a bagless vacuum cleaner that no established manufacturer would license. It applies high-speed digital motors and airflow engineering across vacuum cleaners, hair care products including the Supersonic and Airwrap, air purifiers, lighting and headphones, and sells almost entirely direct to consumers at premium prices. The company moved its head office from Wiltshire to Singapore in 2019 to sit closer to its Asian manufacturing and markets, remains privately held by the Dyson family, and funds an engineering university at its Malmesbury campus.

About The Team

We are seeking an experienced and highly collaborative Product Demonstration Manager to lead the Product Demonstration team within Retail Experience & Design.

This role is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of Product Demonstration Engineers, undergraduate placement students, and graduate students to develop and deliver compelling demonstration experiences that bring Dyson technology to life across retail, events, and experiential environments.

You will own the Product Demonstration portfolio, overseeing the planning, prioritisation, and delivery of projects from initial brief through to implementation. Working closely with Retail Design, Brand Experience, Creative, RDD, Commercial, and Programme Management teams, you will ensure demonstration activity is aligned to business priorities and delivers engaging customer experiences.

A key aspect of the role is developing demonstration strategies and roadmaps for Dyson's business units, identifying opportunities to showcase technology, support product launches, and create greater customer understanding and engagement.

Success in this role will come from strong leadership, effective stakeholder management, clear project governance, and the ability to build a high-performing team capable of delivering innovative, scalable, and impactful demonstration solutions.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of Product Demonstration Engineers, undergraduate placement students, and graduate students.
  • Create a high-performing team culture that promotes innovation, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain Product Demonstration strategies and roadmaps aligned to the priorities of Dyson's business units.
  • Own and prioritise the Product Demonstration portfolio, balancing business needs, resource capacity, and delivery timelines.
  • Oversee the development of demonstration solutions from concept through validation and implementation, ensuring they are technically robust, scalable, and commercially effective.
  • Act as the key link between Retail, Brand Experience, Creative, RDD, Commercial, and Programme Management teams to ensure alignment on demonstration priorities and delivery.
  • Establish effective project governance, planning, resource allocation, and risk management across the demonstration portfolio.
  • Ensure demonstration experiences accurately communicate Dyson technology and performance while delivering engaging customer experiences.
  • Build strong relationships across engineering and product teams to identify future technologies and demonstration opportunities.
  • Provide clear reporting on project status, portfolio health, team capacity, risks, and key delivery milestones.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the development of best practices, processes, and demonstration standards.
  • Contribute to the growth of a best-in-class global Product Demonstration capability that supports retail, events, and future customer engagement channels.

About You

  • Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading and developing technical, engineering, design, or innovation teams.
  • Experience developing and delivering physical products, demonstrations, installations, or interactive experiences from concept through implementation.
  • Strong project and portfolio management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Strong technical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance innovation with practical delivery.
  • Good understanding of mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience translating high-level creative concepts into technically robust, scalable, and commercially viable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of prototyping, design validation, testing methodologies, and iterative development processes.
  • Ability to balance customer experience, technical feasibility, operational requirements, and commercial considerations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build alignment across creative, engineering, retail, and commercial teams.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional decision making.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams and create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Highly collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, experimentation, and learning through testing and iteration.
  • Strong written and visual communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas, project updates, and strategic recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to travel when required.
