Senior Backend Developer (Perl)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Perl Developer to join our team and work on large-scale, high-traffic systems.

In this key role, you will design and build backend services, troubleshoot complex issues, and support mission-critical products that operate under heavy load, high concurrency, and real-time performance requirements.

• Develop and maintain backend code supporting website functionality.
• Design and implement new features and system improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in high-load production environments.
• Work closely with web designers, front-end developers, and other back-end engineers.
• Refactor, optimize, and update existing codebases.
• Integrate backend systems with third-party services and APIs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

• 3+ years of experience as a Backend Developer.
• Strong experience with Perl, or relevant experience with Python, PHP, Ruby, etc.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL/MariaDB (Galera Cluster experience is a strong plus).
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and backend handlers using Ajax/Fetch.
• Experience with WebSocket daemons or event-driven programming.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and writing skills.

• Experience with Unix-based operating systems (FreeBSD, Linux, etc.).
• Good understanding of Apache/NGINX web servers (a plus, not mandatory).
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
