POSITION SUMMARY

As a Payroll Specialist at EarnIn, you will be responsible for supporting various aspects of payroll processing as well as General Ledger operations related to payroll. This will include processing payroll for our domestic and international entities, processing journal entries related to payroll processing as well as accruals, reconciling payroll-related accounts, and ensuring compliance with international, federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will have some payroll background, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

This position will be hybrid (2 days per week) based in our Mexico City office, as part of our expanding site locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Assist with the preparation and processing of domestic and international payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, and employee deductions.
• Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and timesheets.
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data in the payroll system.
• Identify opportunities to enhance payroll and accounting processes. Implement best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Analyze financial data and provide explanations for variances.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as required by external auditors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

• 3+ years Payroll and Accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent industry experience.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP and Excel, WorkDay experience a plus.
• Ability to multitask, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in fast paced and continuously changing environment.
• A team player with experience working in global culture.
• Problem solver, organized and sharp attention to detail is a must.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with US based companies.
