Founded in 2013 by CEO Ram Palaniappan (originally as Activehours), the company pioneered the earned wage access (EWA) sector, providing workers with real-time access to their pay as they earn it rather than waiting for traditional biweekly paychecks. EarnIn connects to users' bank accounts and work tracking systems to enable wage access without mandatory fees, interest, or credit checks, operating primarily on a voluntary tipping model and optional expedited transfer fees.
