EW1 Angular Principal Developer, IT Solutions

Edwards Lifesciences is expanding its global technology capabilities with the launch of a new IT Innovation Hub in Pune, India. The Hub strengthens the technology foundation that supports our business worldwide, working in close partnership with teams across regions to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions at scale. Designed as a long-term investment, the Pune Hub will advance newer digital capabilities such as automation, data, AI, and cloud, and will include roles spanning end user services, application development, and enterprise platform teams. Together, these teams will help Edwards operate more efficiently and accelerate innovation in support of our mission of advancing patient care.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Lead hands-on Angular development using modern UI/UX and Angular best practices; build repeatable, executable design strategies for tactical initiatives, guiding the application team to create new features, design scalable solutions, and address technical debt
• Provide design and architecture recommendations for medium- to large-scale initiatives, guiding less experienced team members through development, implementation, and support activities in line with IT design and development methodology and technology standards
• Define and enforce development team standards for code quality and source code control
• Lead efforts to analyze, diagnose, and resolve performance, functional software, and end-user issues, and produce technical documentation, diagrams, and clear code for moderately complex problems
• Evaluate operational feasibility of proposed solutions and translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and application architectures
• Perform manual and automated testing, including UI/UX regression risk assessments related to code changes, and lead peer code reviews across the team
• Lead the adoption of AI tools across the team to drive improved productivity and accelerated outcomes
• Lead Angular framework upgrades, coordinating across regional development leads
• Evaluate integration opportunities for offline applications based on Ionic Framework, Angular, Capacitor, Electron, and Salesforce, including new technology evaluation, tool selection, and definition of shared data, code resources, and interfaces
• Act as subject-matter expert across system platform design, business process, and software/hardware architecture, representing IT on relevant committees
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams - Design, Quality Management, and Business - to ensure product requirements are aligned and all departments are represented
• Up to 10% travel

What you’ll need (Required):

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, with 8 years of experience in IT
• 8+ years of experience developing responsive, cross-browser compatible web applications
• Expertise in Angular Reactive Form development with complex dynamic fields and validations
• Broad technical knowledge across hardware, software, web/mobile/desktop applications, databases, cloud platforms, systems engineering, and QA/testing
• Knowledge of automated unit testing for Angular using Playwright, Tricentis, or similar toolsets
• Advanced experience with Angular 17+, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQLite, Node JS, HTML5, CSS, Electron, Ionic Capacitor, and mobile/desktop app security
• Advanced expertise in SQL database architecture, particularly for offline applications using SQLite, including distributed database systems and denormalized data models
• Expertise in CI practices using Git-based source control, pipelines (Bitbucket, Azure DevOps), PowerShell/Node JS scripting, and automated unit/e2e testing
• Experience developing offline Windows (UWP/Win32) and iOS applications using Hybrid Web technologies (Apache Cordova, Ionic Capacitor)
• Expertise in the Apple developer program
• Expertise in enterprise Angular 17+ best practices, including global architecture, monorepo/library architecture, OOP, and reactive design patterns
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices across devices and screen sizes, and familiarity with Angular UI libraries such as Ionic
• Knowledge of best practices related to IT governance, operations, and administration
• Expert-level technical documentation skills (UML, BPML, ERD, wireframes/mockups, test scripts)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven fluency in English
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and organized skills, with strong negotiation and relationship management ability

What else we look for (Preferred):

• Full-stack Angular experience with SQLite
• Certificates.dev Angular Certification (Senior or Expert/Lead tier), or equivalent architecture-level credential (e.g., TOGAF, solution architecture certification), demonstrating technical leadership in enterprise Angular application design
• Understanding of standard business workflows for Sales, Marketing, and Inventory Management of high-value products, and related CRM/ERP ecosystems
• Knowledge of Salesforce CRM capabilities (queries, reports, permissions, custom objects, REST APIs, workflows, Apex triggers) as related to connected application development
