Senior Sales Engineer (Telecom)

Elsewedy Electric is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Sales Engineer (Telecom) to drive revenue growth by combining technical expertise with business-to-business (B2B) sales skills.

The successful candidate will identify and secure business opportunities in the telecommunications infrastructure sector, including fiber networks, towers, and passive equipment. The role focuses on managing client relationships, leading end-to-end tender processes, and preparing technical and financial proposals for major telecommunications operators.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in the telecom infrastructure sector, particularly passive equipment, towers, and fiber networks.
• Build and maintain relationships with procurement teams and key telecom operators, including Vodacom, Airtel, Tigo, and Halotel.
• Lead end-to-end bidding and tender processes, preparing comprehensive technical proposals, financial offers, and commercial documentation.
• Conduct risk analysis, interpret customer technical requirements, and provide engineering and product information to support the front-end sales team and Sales Managers.
• Perform market analysis to monitor competitor activities, market trends, and potential growth segments to achieve defined sales targets.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including Planning, Technical, Warehouses, Production, Logistics, and Quality, to ensure feasibility, compliance, and timely delivery of solutions.
• Comply with company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies, manage risks, and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Certified Engineer status with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) or an equivalent professional certification.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience.
• Proven B2B sales experience in the cable manufacturing or telecommunications infrastructure industry, with a track record of meeting sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications solutions and network infrastructure.
• Proficiency in proposal preparation, contract negotiation, market analysis, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
• Fluency in both English and Swahili.
