About Emil Anderson Construction

Emil Anderson Construction (EAC) is a civil construction leader with a proud legacy of excellence and innovation. Headquartered in Kelowna, British Columbia, we deliver projects across the province, specializing in roadbuilding, highway paving, and a broad range of complex civil infrastructure.

For more than 85 years, EAC has earned a reputation for providing high-quality, value-driven solutions. Our collaborative approach brings owners, partners, and stakeholders together to design and execute projects that stand the test of time.

We take pride in our people, our work, and our contribution to the infrastructure that connects and strengthens communities across British Columbia. Supported by regional offices, equipment yards, and maintenance facilities in Kelowna, Hope, and Chilliwack, we are positioned to serve communities throughout the province.

Our success is rooted in our Core Values: Safety, Leadership, Improvement, Commitment, and Excellence. Joining our team means working on landmark projects, learning from industry leaders, and advancing your career in a supportive, safety-focused culture.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Scheduler with civil construction experience to support projects from pursuit and estimating through active construction.

As a Project Scheduler with our Estimating team, you will collaborate with Estimators, Operations, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Subcontractors to develop practical, logic-driven schedules aligned with construction methodology. Your work will strengthen tender submissions, support the transition into execution, and provide clear progress updates and early identification of schedule risks and recovery options.

Based in our Kelowna head office, you will bring construction knowledge, disciplined scheduling practices, clear communication, and a proactive approach to identifying constraints, risks, and opportunities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support preliminary, proposal, and tender schedules for civil infrastructure pursuits, including sequencing, phasing, durations, milestones, calendars, and resource requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed, logic-linked baseline and master schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 to meet client requirements.
  • Validate production rates, crew and equipment assumptions, calendars, access constraints, and constructability with estimating and operations teams. Implement resource loading into schedules as and where applicable.
  • Integrate engineering, permitting, environmental commitments, procurement lead times, subcontractor work, owner activities, commissioning, and other project interfaces into schedules.
  • Prepare tender and proposal schedule content, including narratives, basis-of-schedule documentation, milestone summaries, and phasing plans.
  • Update schedules using field progress, quantity and productivity data, and input from project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other parties.
  • Monitor critical and near-critical paths, float, milestones, variances, constraints, and trends; communicate impacts and recommended actions.
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for project and leadership reviews.
  • Work with project and estimating teams to conduct scenario, what-if, and recovery analyses to assess sequencing alternatives, acceleration options, and mitigation measures.
  • Support change management and schedule-impact assessments through records of approved baselines, updates, revisions, assumptions, and supporting information.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning and schedule reviews to clarify accountabilities, interfaces, and priorities, ensuring safe, executable schedules reflect realistic access, work-area, traffic-management, environmental, and operational constraints.

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in construction scheduling, planning, estimating, or project controls, preferably within heavy civil, roadbuilding, highway, bridge, utility, earthworks, or major infrastructure construction.
  • Understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing, production rates, and resource requirements.
  • Experience developing and updating schedules, look-ahead planning, and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Methodology (CPM), work sequencing, and progress tracking.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify scheduling conflicts and communicate practical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and sound judgment.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is strongly preferred; Excel experience is an asset.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
