[Remote] Software Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Employvision Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and scaling of backend systems supporting client launches, member access, eligibility processing, identity, and client configuration. The role also involves technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, mentorship, and building scalable systems for significant data growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver large-scale backend engineering projects independently, from requirements gathering through deployment
• Design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems
• Own and improve eligibility processing, identity management, and client configuration systems
• Build system architectures that support significant data growth and increasing business demands
• Collaborate with product managers and internal operations teams to define requirements, business use cases, and edge cases
• Partner with senior engineering leaders to execute the long-term technical roadmap
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to junior engineers
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, maintainability, and scalability

Skills

• EXPERIENCE IN SAAS STARTUP ENVIRONMENT MUST
• 8–15 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend development expertise
• Staff-level engineering capabilities, including system design, architectural decision-making, and technical leadership
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
• Experience designing and scaling complex backend systems in production environments
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, databases, and distributed system design
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and AWS cloud services
• Ability to lead complex projects independently and work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong product mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions across teams
