We are currently looking for an IT Infrastructure Section Manager to oversee the alignment of IT infrastructure with departmental goals, ensuring scalability, resilience, security, and cost-effectiveness. The role is responsible for managing infrastructure projects, maintaining the stability and performance of critical systems, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, the successful candidate will contribute to infrastructure architecture and solution design, ensuring seamless integration across platforms and environments. This position will also drive innovation through the adoption of emerging technologies and cloud solutions, while maintaining financial accountability through effective budget management and vendor partnerships. Additionally, the IT Infrastructure Section Manager will foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence to support strategic IT initiatives and organizational growth.

What will you do:

IT Infrastructure Governance

• Design guidelines and ways of working to be aligned with departmental and organisation goals and objectives, fostering high-quality delivery of services.
• Track and report metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), actively engaging in process improvements to enhance section's operations.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL best practices, conducting resource allocation planning to optimize resources for effective management.
• Oversee on-premises and Azure environments, ensuring alignment with business objectives, availability, performance, resilience, security, compliance, and cost optimization requirements. Apply and enforces cloud governance standards, architecture principles, and workload placement decisions in accordance with policies and regulatory obligations.

Infrastructure Architecture & Solution Design

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, to gather requirements and translate them into effective network, server and storage requirements, whether deployed on-premises and/or in the cloud.
• Develop comprehensive architectural blueprints for IT infrastructure that meet business requirements and ensure effective architecture implementations that incorporate scalability, security, reliability, and sustainability.
• Identify and manages infrastructure architecture interdependencies to ensure seamless integration, interoperability, and optimal functionality across systems/ platforms/ services.

IT Infrastructure Delivery Management

• Oversee and deliver project tasks related to IT Infrastructure, executed under both waterfall and agile methodologies, selecting the most appropriate delivery approach based on project needs, to ensure compliance with quality, timeline, budget constraints and architectural designs.
• Oversee the delivery of IT infrastructure services, applying a cloud-first approach where appropriate, ensuring that service outcomes are aligned with business needs.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure IT Infrastructure services meet evolving needs, proactively identifying delivery risks and supporting the development of effective mitigation strategies to address them.
• Manage IT Infrastructure teams, also utilizing special tools and methodologies to enhance project management activities, collaboration and deliverables' quality.

Infrastructure Operations & Continuity Management

• Oversee the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices in suitable environments -primarily cloud-based- by accelerating the build, test, and deployment, leveraging CI/CD frameworks and pipelines to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor infrastructure health metrics and KPIs through effective monitoring and alerting systems, ensuring proactive management and timely response to issues.
• Oversee updates, upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting activities to ensure alignment with the Company's guidelines, maintaining system stability and security.
• Oversee backup and recovery operations across on-premises and Azure environments, ensuring business continuity, safeguarding against service disruptions and enabling consistent service availability.
• Monitor the effectiveness of disaster recovery (DR) solution(s) and supports DR planning and execution by coordinating periodic testing to confirm service availability, validate preparedness, and ensure infrastructure resilience against potential threats.

IT Infrastructure Service Management

• Ensure effective IT Infrastructure support services and rapid resolution of 2nd and 3rd level incidents related to network, on-prem systems, and cloud environments under the section’s responsibility, prioritizing prompt response and issue mitigation.
• Maintain a high level of user satisfaction by facilitating clear communication channels and ensuring timely service delivery to meet user needs.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging operational data, user feedback and incident trends to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

Financial Management

• Monitor and reports on expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints while addressing both current and projected demand needs.
• Support the financial planning and budgeting processes by providing detailed input on IT Infrastructure requirements across on-premises data centers, network and telecommunications services and public or private cloud platforms ensuring optimal budget alignment.
• Implement cost-saving measures to enhance productivity without compromising quality by leveraging technology and efficient resource management.

IT Vendor Management

• Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure that infrastructure services, are aligned with section needs and departmental goals, fostering partnerships that enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery.
• Monitor vendor performance against established quality requirements and service level agreements (SLAs), providing feedback to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Participate in procurement procedures from a technical perspective, including requests for proposals (RfPs) and bills of materials (BOMs), vendor selection, and effort estimations ensuring that technical/ non-functional and business requirements are effectively addressed.

IT Vendor Management

• Support innovation and continuous improvement within IT Infrastructure operations by actively exploring and supporting the implementation of new technologies, tools, and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) that enhance organizational capabilities and operational agility.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies and trends, supporting their design, development, adoption and migration into production environments ensuring software meet user's demands.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate idea generation and feedback, ensuring that innovative methodologies align with organizational objectives.

People Leadership

• Ensure effective execution of section's operations in alignment with section/ departmental goals.
• Ensure the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure to meet both immediate and long-term business needs, ensuring scalability, resilience, high performance, availability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide input and support for the planning and execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring synchronization with department-specific goals and KPIs.
• Monitor performance of the team members and facilitates the design and implementation of development plans fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth.

What you need to be successful:

• BSc in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Science or other related field.
• Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400 or AZ-700) are strongly preferred. VMware and ITIL certifications are an advantage.
• 4-6 years of relevant working experience. At least 3 years hands-on with Microsoft Azure as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer or Cloud Architect, in hybrid (on-premises & cloud) environments.
• Proven experience leading & coordinating internal and outsourced/vendor teams to successfully deliver IT infrastructure projects and services.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and hybrid environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and virtualization platforms.
• Understanding of ITIL, IT service management, and infrastructure governance.
• Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and information security.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automation, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend effective solutions.
