What You’ll Be Doing:
Summary
A Principal Functional Analyst works on the creation of insights and sharing of information with different stakeholder groups within Evolent.
Essential Function s
Data Analysis & Interpretation:
- Ensure high standards of quality assurance and data integrity in all deliverables.
- Monitor and manage performance metrics, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Address data gaps and system limitations through proactive problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
- Regulary interact with various internal and external stakeholders
Data, Reporting & Visualization:
- Oversee a suite of reporting and analytical capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects and to enhance existing deliverables.
- Drive the implementation of scalable, repeatable analytics solutions using tools like SQL, Power BI, and Excel.
Stakeholder Collaboratio n:
- Point person with internal teams such as Product, Finance, Clinical Operations, and BI to align analytics with broader organizational goals.
- Lead analytic portions of external meetings and presentations, delivering insights and recommendations clearly and effectively.
- Lead the integration of analytics into operational workflows and decision-making processes
Problem Solving & Strategic Insight:
- Lead healthcare analytics projects designed to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Drive insights from analysis to influence and inform business decisions.
- Easily communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences
- Create polished presentations and narratives that highlight key client insights and recommendations.
Process Improvement & Innovatio n:
- Peer review others reports and presentations for consistence, alignment and formatting and train more junior team members in presentation best practice
- Institute quality standards and ensure timely delivery of all projects
Domain Expertise Development:
- Apply knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems, including claims, reimbursement models, and regulatory frameworks.
- Evolent SME in one or more functional area with ability to work with AD/D to provide insights and solutions.
- Understand current industry trends and best practices in healthcare analytics.
Mentorship & Capability Building:
- Mentor junior analysts and support their professional development.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis or similar role.
- For EI job postings only: 8-10 years of experience in healthcare data analysis or similar role.
- Expert proficiency in SQL, Excel and data visualization tools, including the
- ability to create
- intermediate data sets and integrate datasets that don't directly connect with one another.
- Demonstrated experience influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of data systems and the critical thinking skills to solve new problems and adapt to changes in data architecture.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and recommending or making decisions with incomplete information
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree with a quantitative (e.g., actuarial, statistics, operations research,engineering, mathematics, economics, finance) or healthcare (e.g., health administration, epidemiology, public health, biology) focus or major.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
