About the Role
Our client, a prominent and established leader in the retail and butchery sector, is seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and experienced Store Manager already based in the Northern Cape to oversee standalone butchery operations in the Northern Cape.
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for driving store profitability, managing daily retail and butchery operations, ensuring uncompromising quality and hygiene standards, and leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day store and butchery operations, ensuring seamless workflow from stock receiving to counter presentation.
- Financial Management: Drive sales targets, manage operational costs, control shrinkage and waste, and maximize store profitability.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain stringent health, safety, hygiene, and cold-chain standards in accordance with industry regulations.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, mentor, and schedule store and butchery staff to foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Customer Service: Handle customer queries, resolve issues promptly, and maintain strong community relations to build brand loyalty.
- Stock & Inventory Control: Manage stock ordering, rotation, and regular stock takes to ensure optimal product availability.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Store Manager or Butchery Manager within the retail, FMCG, or meat market sector.
- Residency: Must currently reside in the Northern Cape.
- Transportation: Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Financial Standing: Clear credit history (credit listing check required).
- Compliance: A clean criminal record.
- Environment: Physically able and willing to work in cold environments (chillers and freezers).
- Availability: Immediate availability to start ASAP.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Hands on: Able to carry out physical work in the Butchery environment.
