Technical Recruiter

Location:  McLean, VA or Richmond, VA

Work Environment:  Hybrid

Role Summary

Exiger is seeking a Technical Recruiter to support hiring across our Product, Technology, and Government Delivery teams. You will recruit the people who build our technology, implement it for customers, and support government missions, including software and AI engineers, infrastructure specialists, solutions engineers, technical program managers, and customer-facing delivery professionals.

Working alongside our Lead Technical Recruiter and hiring managers, you will own assigned searches from intake through offer and onboarding. You will bring strong outbound sourcing skills, practical market insight, and the judgment to guide hiring decisions as business needs evolve. You will also help improve how we use AI, technical assessments, and interview insights to strengthen the quality and consistency of hiring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting across Product, Technology, and Government Delivery, including technical delivery and public sector-facing roles, with flexibility to support other business priorities.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, success profiles, compensation expectations, location needs, and interview plans before launching searches.
  • Build pipelines through targeted research, LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, talent communities, and personalized outreach to passive candidates.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for government-facing roles with specialized requirements, including security clearances, client-site expectations, location constraints, and technical or mission expertise.
  • Conduct candidate screens that assess relevant experience, technical fluency, motivation, and capacity to learn, while clearly communicating Exiger’s opportunity and role expectations.
  • Use market data and pipeline results to advise stakeholders, clarify requirements, and recommend practical adjustments when searches encounter obstacles.
  • Coordinate interviews, ensure timely scorecard completion, manage offer discussions and negotiations, and partner with Talent & Culture on onboarding handoffs.
  • Help implement and manage technical assessments through platforms such as Karat and HackerRank, partnering with hiring teams to ensure assessments reflect the skills each role requires.
  • Apply AI and automation to sourcing, research, outreach, and recruiting workflows while validating outputs and handling candidate information responsibly.
  • Maintain accurate Greenhouse records and use recruiting data to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and improve hiring outcomes.
  • Support recruiting and coordination for internship and early talent programs in partnership with program leads and the Talent Acquisition team.

What You Bring

  • Ability to understand technical requirements and distinguish the skills needed to build products, deliver solutions, and support government customers.
  • Strong sourcing, candidate evaluation, and closing skills, with a track record of engaging talent for difficult-to-fill roles.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the judgment to advise senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively, and offer practical solutions.
  • AI-fluency, with hands-on experience using generative AI and automation to improve sourcing, candidate research, outreach, and recruiting workflows, and the judgment to evaluate outputs critically.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and resilience when managing competing priorities or changing requirements.
  • Commitment to fair, consistent hiring practices and a responsive candidate experience.

What You Need

  • At least three years of technical recruiting experience in an in-house, agency, or combined environment, including ownership of full-cycle searches.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting AI, software engineering, data, infrastructure, or related technical talent.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system, recruiting metrics, and sourcing tools to manage and improve hiring processes. Greenhouse experience is preferred.
  • Experience recruiting Product, Technical Delivery, and Public Sector facing talent, including cleared or customer-facing technical roles, is preferred.
  • Experience with technical assessments, interview intelligence platforms, or early-career recruiting programs is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without current or future sponsorship from Exiger.
