As our Senior Consultant - Workforce Transformation within People Consulting, you'll deliver workforce transformation initiatives for Australian Federal Government clients. You'll combine executive-level communication, advanced stakeholder engagement and strong consulting capability to structure complex problems, develop clear recommendations and support decisions across workforce strategy, operating model and organisational design programs. This role will primarily support Federal Government clients, and applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).

This is a hybrid position based in Canberra - Ngambri.

Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver workforce transformation workstreams across complex Federal Government programs, partnering with senior stakeholders to define outcomes, navigate competing priorities and translate strategy into practical actions.
  • Prepare executive briefings, presentations and recommendations, and facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions that convert complex workforce and organisational issues into clear decisions and implementation approaches.
  • Analyse workforce, organisational and business data to generate insights, support evidence-based recommendations and contribute to business development opportunities.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance through AGSVA.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience delivering consulting, workforce transformation, organisational design, workforce strategy or related services, preferably within Australian Government environments.
  • Strong executive communication, consulting and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience preparing high-quality briefings and influencing senior government stakeholders.

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Experience with and a strong understanding of operating model development, workforce strategy and organisational design.
  • Client focus, with a proactive approach to understanding and responding to client needs. Previous experience in professional services consulting or internal consulting is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to ask insightful questions, listen actively and convey ideas effectively while navigating complex stakeholder networks.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and collaboration, with openness to coaching and feedback and respect for diverse backgrounds and working styles.
