AI Engineer – AI, Data & Process Automation

Drive the transformation of FAMAR’s business and industrial processes by combining Lean methodologies, data engineering, artificial intelligence and automation.

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer you will work directly with operational teams to identify inefficiencies, redesign workflows and develop practical AI-powered solutions through to production deployment.

You’ll connect fragmented systems and build reliable, secure and reusable data integrations that make enterprise data accessible. Using generative AI, intelligent agents, document intelligence and workflow automation, you’ll simplify complex processes, eliminate repetitive tasks and help teams work more effectively.

What you’ll do:

• Work alongside business and manufacturing teams to identify bottlenecks and simplify processes using Lean principles.
• Build and deploy AI applications, intelligent agents, RAG solutions and automated workflows that solve practical operational challenges.
• Connect enterprise systems through reliable data pipelines, APIs and reusable integrations, improving data quality and accessibility.
• Develop document automation solutions supporting activities such as customer quotations, quality reviews and reporting.
• Take solutions from prototype to production using Microsoft Azure and sound engineering practices, including testing, monitoring and appropriate human oversight.
• Partner with IT and Quality to ensure security, data integrity and regulatory compliance where applicable.
• Train users, drive adoption and work with IT to establish ongoing support and maintenance.
• Measure results through time saved, shorter lead times, improved quality and validated savings, scaling successful solutions across FAMAR.

What makes you a great fit

• Min. 3 years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, AI development or intelligent process automation.
• Proven ability to map, analyse, challenge and simplify end-to-end processes together with business teams.
• Strong collaboration skills, with a track record of delivering results jointly with operational, IT and Quality teams.
• Demonstrated experience developing and deploying production-ready AI applications in operational environments.
• Strong hands-on engineering capabilities, including application development, data pipelines, APIs, automated workflows and production deployment.
• Experience integrating diverse enterprise systems, data sources and AI solutions into business processes.
• Practical experience with LLM applications, intelligent agents, RAG architectures or workflow automation.
• Experience with cloud technologies and data platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Ability to translate business requirements and operational challenges into practical technical solutions.
• Experience with ERP, QMS, CRM or other enterprise systems would be advantageous; MES or LIMS experience would be a plus for future initiatives.
• Experience with document intelligence or enterprise workflow platforms would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of GxP, Computerized System Validation and data integrity principles would be an asset.
• Exposure to Lean methodologies or business process improvement would be advantageous.
