The Senior Manager, Field Operations serves as a key Commercial Operations partner responsible for supporting field execution across commercial, medical field operations, and new launch priorities. The role translates business, medical field, and launch strategy into actionable field operations support through segmentation, targeting, call plan design, territory alignment, field reporting, launch readiness coordination, and field enablement processes.

This individual will act as a trusted advisor to Business Unit leadership, National Sales leadership, Medical field leadership, launch teams, and field management teams, helping ensure field resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities and supported with clear, actionable performance insights.

The Senior Manager will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for field force planning, field reporting, medical field operations support, and launch-related field readiness. The role will also support training and adoption of commercial operations tools, including Sales Compass and other field enablement platforms, and lead day-to-day engagement with external vendors supporting field operations deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations, Strategy & Launch Readiness

  • Serve as a primary Field Operations partner across commercial field teams, medical field operations, and new launch initiatives.
  • Lead segmentation and targeting initiatives to align field activity with commercial priorities, medical field needs, launch strategy, and highest-value customer opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize call plans and field execution guidance that support business objectives, brand strategy, and launch readiness.
  • Lead territory alignment analyses and provide recommendations to optimize coverage, workload balance, field execution, and launch deployment needs.
  • Partner with Business Unit, Sales, Medical field, and launch leadership to identify opportunities to improve field productivity, launch execution, and operational consistency.
  • Translate business needs and data-driven insights into clear, field-ready recommendations and execution plans.

Medical Field Operations Support

  • Partner with Medical field leadership to understand operational needs and translate them into clear processes, reports, field support materials, and leadership visibility.
  • Support medical field team planning processes, including operational coordination, reporting requirements, field structure support, and field readiness activities.
  • Ensure alignment between commercial operations, medical field operations, compliance, analytics, and technology partners on shared field support initiatives.
  • Help standardize and improve processes that support medical field execution, operational transparency, and cross-functional coordination.

Field Reporting & Dashboards

  • Own the design, development, and delivery of field performance reporting and dashboards for supported commercial, medical field, and launch priorities.
  • Analyze sales, field activity, targeting, execution, launch readiness, and medical field operations data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain field dashboards using Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Define and monitor key field effectiveness KPIs, including coverage, reach, frequency, call plan adherence, target engagement, launch execution metrics, and territory-level performance.
  • Provide actionable reporting insights to Business Unit leadership, National Sales leadership, Medical field leadership, launch teams, Regional Sales Directors, and field management.
  • Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, user-friendly, and aligned to business decision-making needs.

Field Enablement & Operations Tools

  • Serve as the SME for Sales Compass and other field operations / field enablement tools used by the field organization.
  • Develop and deliver training to improve field understanding and adoption of tools, reports, dashboards, launch execution processes, and field effectiveness workflows.
  • Partner with Sales, Medical field, and launch leadership to identify training needs and support consistent use of field enablement tools and operational processes.
  • Act as a resource for National Sales leadership, Regional Sales Directors, District Managers, field representatives, launch teams, and medical field teams on targeting, reporting, and field operations processes.
  • Support communications and change management related to reporting enhancements, targeting updates, call plan changes, launch readiness updates, medical field operations updates, and field operations tools.

Vendor Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead day-to-day engagement with external vendors supporting segmentation, targeting, call planning, territory alignment, field reporting, medical field operations, and launch readiness initiatives.
  • Translate business requirements into clear vendor deliverables and ensure outputs meet quality, timing, launch, and business expectations.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations, Business Unit stakeholders, Sales leadership, Medical Affairs / Medical field leadership, launch teams, Data & Analytics, Compliance, IT, and other cross-functional teams to execute field operations priorities.
  • Coordinate project timelines, stakeholder input, and deliverable review processes for assigned field operations and launch initiatives.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that increase efficiency, clarity, and field impact.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical Commercial Operations, Field Operations, Sales Force Effectiveness, Sales Operations, Business Analytics, Medical Operations, Medical Field Operations, Launch Excellence, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting pharmaceutical or specialty field organizations, including commercial and/or medical field teams.
  • Hands-on experience with segmentation, targeting, call plan development, territory alignment, field force reporting, launch readiness support, and field operations processes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining field dashboards using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical commercial and/or medical field datasets, such as sales, activity, prescribing, claims, specialty pharmacy, customer-level data, field activity, medical engagement, or launch execution data sources.
  • Strong ability to translate data and business questions into actionable field recommendations.
  • Experience managing external vendors or consulting partners.
  • Strong communication, presentation, project management, and training skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Business Units, Medical Affairs / Medical field teams, Launch teams, Compliance, and Analytics without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting new product launches, launch readiness, launch execution, growth-stage brands, or evolving field force models.
  • Experience supporting Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaison (MSL), medical field reporting, medical engagement planning, or medical field team enablement preferred.
  • Experience with Sales Compass or similar sales operations / field enablement platforms.
  • Experience supporting specialty pharmaceutical products preferred.
  • MBA, MS, or other advanced degree preferred.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $134,000 to $150,000 , which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.

Benefits for this role include: comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees; a 401k plan and company match; short and long-term disability coverage; basic life insurance; wellness benefits; reimbursement for certain tuition expenses; sick time frontloaded yearly of 40 hours, or higher if state or local law requires; vacation time for full time employees to accrue between 112.5 and 150 hours yearly in the first four (4) years of employment, and additional accruals starting in the fifth (5th) year of employment; and 12 to 13 paid holidays per year. For roles that are not field-based, Ferring has a hybrid work policy that is four days in the office, with the option to work one day remotely.
