Job Title

About your role:

Lead the global infrastructure direction for VisionNext, a financial services platform expanding across regions and clients. Build a team from existing colleagues and new hires and partner with regional operations teams to create reusable infrastructure blueprints, standards, and operating models.

The role will shape AWS resilience around client recovery needs, prepare VisionNext for Azure and future cloud deployments, establish SRE and reliability capabilities, and improve observability and external connectivity practices.

What you'll do:

• Set the infrastructure strategy and lead a global team that turns it into delivered standards and capabilities.
• Define and implement AWS multi-region resilience options against business and client RTO/RPO needs, including active/passive, active/warm, and active/active where justified.
• Work with regional operations teams on repeatable patterns for dedicated and shared VisionNext deployments and clear working arrangements.
• Lead the path to Azure deployment capability, drawing on practical delivery experience across both AWS and Azure.
• Establish SRE, reliability, and observability practices that improve production readiness and recovery.
• Standardise connectivity patterns for schemes(Visa/Mastercard etc), service providers, and clients where regional needs allow.

Experience you'll need to have:

• Senior leadership experience building infrastructure or platform engineering teams and influencing regional partners.
• Strong production AWS experience, including multi-region resilience and recovery design.
• Hands-on delivery of production infrastructure to AWS, including experience delivering to other hyper-scalers such as Azure.
• Experience translating RTO/RPO requirements into workable designs and tested recovery plans.
• Strong judgement in cloud networking, Kubernetes or comparable platforms, infrastructure as code, and secure operations.
• Experience introducing reusable infrastructure standards, SRE or reliability practices, and observability improvements across teams.

Experience that would be great to have:

• Payments or financial services; complex scheme, provider, or client connectivity; dedicated and shared customer deployments; further cloud providers.
