  • Partner with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, and application teams to incorporate cost considerations into design, migration, and modernization decisions
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of FinOps practices aligned to the FinOps Foundation framework (Inform, Optimize, Operate)
  • Develop and maintain FinOps playbooks and best practices documentation

Cloud & SaaS Cost Optimization & Controls

  • Execute and track cost optimization initiatives across AWS, including right-sizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, capacity planning, and service tier selection
  • Govern SaaS spend optimization for platforms such as Snowflake, Dynatrace, and other consumption-based vendors
  • Analyze usage patterns and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency without degrading capability or performance
  • Define and enforce tagging and metadata standards to support cost allocation, chargeback/show back, and financial accountability
  • Monitor cloud and SaaS commitments, track utilization, and recommend adjustments to maximize savings
  • Identify and remediate cost anomalies, waste, and inefficiencies through proactive monitoring and alerting

AI Cost Management & Forecasting

  • Establish cost transparency and governance for AI and machine learning workloads, including model training, inference, and third-party AI platform usage
  • Develop and maintain AI token usage tracking, forecasting models, and cost attribution across teams and use cases
  • Partner with data science, engineering, and platform teams to understand AI workload cost drivers and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Support the measurement of annualized efficiency gains from AI adoption as part of FNBO's AI & Data strategic goals

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Establish and manage cloud, SaaS, and AI spend forecasting by analyzing usage trends, growth patterns, and business initiatives

  • Translate usage and consumption data into financial insights for Technology and Finance leadership
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual budget planning and variance analysis
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics that support data-driven decision-making
  • Partner with IT Business Management (ITCM, ITAM, ITVM) to ensure alignment between cost management and contract/vendor governance

Governance, Risk & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Procurement, and Vendor Management to ensure financial controls extend across cloud and SaaS platforms
