Te Tūranga - About the role

We're looking for a Transport Freight Rating & Master Data Specialist to join our Transport team. This role can be based in either Auckland or Wellington.

In this role, you'll work closely with internal stakeholders and freight customers to ensure customer freight rating structures, billing data and master data are maintained accurately across multiple systems. You'll play a critical role in supporting the end to end financial representation of freight movements where billing accuracy and data integrity is a must.

You'll be responsible for managing freight rates and master data workflows, investigating and resolving queries, maintaining data quality and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

You'll Also:

  • Maintain and update customer freight rates, master data and related information across multiple transport systems
  • Perform freight rating validations, billing reconciliations and data quality reviews to support accurate customer charging
  • Investigate and respond to customer queries relating to freight rates, billing, shipments and master data
  • Support annual rate reviews and updates while ensuring data accuracy and completeness
  • Generate accurate reports and help identify trends, exceptions and opportunities for improvement

You're a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with data, problem solving and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work. Whether your experience comes from freight, supply chain, finance, master data or another industry, you'll bring strong communication skills, numerical accuracy and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy
  • Experience processing invoices, billing activities or working with complex data sets
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, lookups and data analysis
  • A collaborative approach, strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
  • A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and data quality
