Job Overview

The Data Stewardwillcollaborate on the design and implementation of datagovernance andquality solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives,value streams, and maximizing long-term technology investment, to ensure compliance withprojectrequirements. The Data Stewardwill work closely with Business Sponsors, Business Data Owners and Stewards, Business and Technical subject matter experts, Enterprise Architects, and Technology leaders to implement data quality checks and capture business process knowledge based on Data Governancestandardsand processes, whilecontributing to the overall dataroadmap.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform all responsibilities in accordance withCompetencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.

• Create data profiling methods that can be applied to varietyof data structures and be leveragedby data analysts, business stewards and subject matter expertsfor self-service data profiling.

• Build data profiles and identifyinsights from the profiles.Review profileswithprojectleaders, data qualityand governanceanalysts, business data stewards, and technology subject matter experts.

• Creating and maintainingdata quality metrics fordata assets based on the business rules coordinated by Project Managers and Project Data SMEs.

• Create and maintaindata quality monitoring of identifieddata quality metrics fordata assets. Work closely with Business Data Stewards, Data Quality Analysts, Project Data SMEs to identifythe best frequency for measuring quality.

• Assistwith maintaininga centralized DGO dashboard summarizing the status of data governance and data quality for data assets.

• Design dataqualityremediation procedures and scripts in partnerships with business unit’sfunctional areas, and the Technology department to ensure that data quality issues are implemented in source systems.

• Identifyand classify PII or Restricted data in the Data Governance Tool and follow the Personally Identifiable Information PII Data Inventory Standard.

• IdentifyData Owner(s)and Steward(s) of data areas.

• Database column level documentation of all data that is created or stored in the system is required and ifdoes not exist there should be a plan to create. Minimum requires data element name, technical name, location of element in database and application, definition, data type, and sample data.

• Identifyand log Critical Data Elements (CDEs) in the data governance tool with business definition and technical metadata.

• Document column level lineage with transformation logic mapped in the Data Governance Tool.

• Collaborate with Data Owners, Business Data Stewards, Data Governance and Quality Analysts, Business and Tech SMEs to ensure proper retention practices are followed in accordance withthe Data Purging Standard.

• Demonstrate the DGO operating model to Business Data Stewards and data community to enable them to implement datagovernance andquality practices in a self-service manner.

• Deliver training and answer questions from Business Data Stewards of functionality of data governance related toolsand proper usage.

• Partner with vendors and the Technology department to build source system integrations, participatein the timelyimplementation of patches and upgradeslead by Technology, coordinate system and user-acceptance testing, and drive the resolution of system issues for DGO-owned platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time

• 5 years data quality development experience required

• 3 years data governance experience required

• Experience with data management tools required (Informatica, Collibra, Purview, etc.)

• Proficient writing and reading SQL

• Experience working with relational SQL databases (Oracle, MS SQL)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to lead initiatives/small projects

• Strong understanding of data quality and governance frameworks

• Experience with metric driven data governance

• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solvingskills with a proven track recordin gathering and documenting comprehensive business requirements in a highly regulated environment

• Familiarity with developing and performing data manipulation, data cleansing, data analysis, and data anomalies detection preferred

Pay:

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $120,000 to $130,000. In addition, for the current performance period, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

Benefits:

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms. The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a “free time” PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take time needed for either sick time or vacation.
