Electrical Technician

Install, maintain, and repair the mill’s electrical systems so the plant stays safe and running.

This role keeps the mill’s electrical systems safe, reliable, and efficient. You install, test, fault-find, and repair wiring, equipment, and controls.

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and control systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults so downtime stays short.
• Read electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
• Fabricate or adjust electrical parts to the specification.
• Inspect panels and equipment with the approved checklists.
• Take part in preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance.
• Record energy use and keep maintenance and shift records.
• Calibrate weighing scales and other electrical measuring devices.

• OND, NABTEB, Trade Test, or a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Five to ten years of electrical maintenance in a factory or other industrial plant.
• A sound knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
• The ability to fault-find and to read drawings.
