Job Title - Bid Manager

Location - Leicester

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Bid Manager to join the team at Galliford Try

What you will be doing:

  • Leading and managing strategically important/business critical individual project and framework bids.
  • Taking ownership and accountability for the performance and deliverables of specific opportunity Bid Teams and act as Main “Point of Contact” with Client/Design Teams.
  • Setting, managing, and leading bid strategy/win themes; bid programme development; allocation of deliverables; tender settlement process and client engagement sessions.
  • Analyse PQQ and Tender documents and resource and manage a suitable bid team to deliver the bids.
  • Arrange and lead tender review meetings and report to the business Unit Directors on progress.
  • Developing risk identification, mitigation, and alternative proposals.
  • Inputting into planning, programming, and the development of construction methodologies.
  • Delivering high quality bids that clearly articulate our offer in response to client specific requirements/needs.
  • Assisting the Pre-construction Director with bid evaluation, governance, and the allocation of appropriate level of team resources to bids.
  • Ensure continuing feedback on contractual/commercial developments, outlining positive and negative issues identified during delivery, with a key focus upon risk management.

Competency Requirements

  • Industry specific knowledge of Bid Managing within the Construction market.
  • Proven track record in the sector or similar role, preferably with a main contractor.
  • Excellent written English and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to meet time pressures to deliver high quality submissions on time.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Adaptability and drive to progress the role into other areas including Business Development as and when necessary.
  • A naturally inquisitive nature to challenge ideas and provide innovative solutions.
  • Display a creative flair in their writing and ensuring high standards of accuracy and document control.
  • Collaborative attitude An understanding of the importance of work winning strategies/themes/differentiators and their application into submissions

Technical/Professional Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified - preferably in a subject with a high focus on creating high-quality written work.
  • Have previous experience in either a consultancy or construction business.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK.
  • Adaptable and able to deal with changing project requirements.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft suite, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other desktop publishing software packages.
