Senior AI Engineer

Gateworth Group is currently assisting a Technology Consultancy in the UAE looking hire Senior AI Engineers for either its Dubai or Abu Dhabi branch. The client is looking to hire the top AI Engineers and will consider candidates who are looking to relocate. Our client has multiple vacancies and is working on some very interesting projects, looking to innovate across multiple sectors. This AI Engineer will assist with building advanced AI systems that sit at the intersection of research, engineering, and real-world problem-solving. This role is for someone who thrives in highly technical environments and can design, experiment, and deploy sophisticated LLM-driven architectures. You'll work across model development, multi-agent system design, retrieval pipelines, and multimodal applications, contributing to platforms that support both operational and investment-focused use cases. This is a hands-on role for a scientist who understands modern AI from first principles and can translate cutting-edge methods into production-ready systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Architect and implement advanced LLM-powered systems, including multi-agent frameworks, retrieval-enhanced pipelines, and multimodal models.
• Lead end-to-end development of AI initiatives, from data preparation and model training to evaluation, optimisation, and deployment.
• Conduct deep research into emerging AI techniques, staying ahead of developments in model architectures, training strategies, and agent-based systems.
• Build and refine prompt, tool-use, and orchestration strategies to maximise model reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and domain specialists to design AI solutions tailored to complex operational and investment workflows.
• Analyse system behaviour, identify performance bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across models, agents, and pipelines.
• Contribute to internal research, experimentation, and benchmarking efforts to establish best-in-class AI practices.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience developing, fine-tuning, and deploying LLMs for advanced, high-impact applications.
• Strong understanding of core AI building blocks: model internals, training dynamics, optimisation methods, data pipelines, and evaluation frameworks.
• Proven ability to design and implement multi-agent systems, including planning loops, tool-use orchestration, memory systems, and agent collaboration.
• Proficiency with modern AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, and Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience with retrieval systems, vector databases, and domain-specific RAG architectures.
• Background in multimodal model development (text, vision, audio, structured data).
• Track record of delivering complex AI projects, ideally with contributions to research, open-source work, or competitive benchmarks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in fast-moving environments.
• Advanced academic background (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field is preferred.
