GE Vernova is an American energy company created in April 2024 when General Electric split into three, taking the power, wind and electrification businesses. It builds and services gas turbines that generate a substantial share of the world's electricity, onshore and offshore wind turbines, grid equipment including transformers and high-voltage transmission, and nuclear technology through GE Hitachi and its BWRX-300 small modular reactor. Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the company sits at the centre of two simultaneous demand shocks: the electrification of transport and industry, and the electricity requirements of large-scale artificial intelligence data centres.

Job Description Summary

At GE Vernova, our manufacturing operations depend on having the right materials available at the right time to support customer commitments and production objectives. As a Buyer/Planner, you will play a critical role in balancing supply and demand, coordinating material availability, and ensuring seamless execution of production schedules.

In this role, you will manage planning and purchasing activities across a portfolio of materials, working closely with suppliers, manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, and operations teams. You will leverage ERP tools, data analysis, and inventory planning strategies to drive material availability, optimize inventory levels, and support on-time delivery performance.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented supply chain professional who enjoys solving problems, managing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, material availability, and operational performance.
  • Escalate supply constraints and recommend mitigation plans to minimize disruption to production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters, supplier data, and ERP system records.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production planning, materials management, purchasing, or supply chain environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, Pivot Tables, and lookup functions.
  • Experience working with material requirements planning (MRP), inventory management, or production scheduling processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
