GE Vernova is an American energy company created in April 2024 when General Electric split into three, taking the power, wind and electrification businesses. It builds and services gas turbines that generate a substantial share of the world's electricity, onshore and offshore wind turbines, grid equipment including transformers and high-voltage transmission, and nuclear technology through GE Hitachi and its BWRX-300 small modular reactor. Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the company sits at the centre of two simultaneous demand shocks: the electrification of transport and industry, and the electricity requirements of large-scale artificial intelligence data centres.

Job Description Summary

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.

  • Collaborate with project teams, utilities, and regulatory bodies to ensure study deliverables meet project and compliance requirements.

  • Coordinating with colleagues in the UK, France, Germany, USA and India with regards to general procedures and guidelines.
  • 20% of work time may consist of domestic and occasional international travel for technical meetings, site visits and customer visits; both independently and as a member of a wider team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
  • Experience in power system analysis or grid studies.
  • Proficiency with one or more power system simulation tools (e.g., PSSE, PowerFactory, PSCAD, ETAP).
  • Strong understanding of transmission and distribution system operations and planning.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy integration, inverter-based resources, and grid codes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.

You can expect from us:

  • Challenging and exciting projects.
