Job Description Summary

We are looking for a motivated, detail-focused Test Operator to join our Manufacturing Operations team in Stafford.

As a Test Operator, you will work as part of the manufacturing team to support the efficient production and testing of products, ensuring daily production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and compliance.

You will play an important role in ensuring assembly and inspection activities are completed using the correct tools, current build standards and approved process documentation, while supporting the Test Technician with the smooth operation of the test cells.

Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the manufacturing team to ensure daily production targets are achieved, including working shift requirements where necessary.
  • Supporting assembly and inspection activities in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring products meet the required build quality standards.
  • Using the correct tools, equipment and current build/process documentation.
  • Supporting the Test Technician with the smooth and efficient operation of the test cells.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workstation through routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Checking equipment compliance, including BV inspections, calibration and PAT requirements.
  • Carrying out 5S inspections and supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Following all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and fully aligning with GE EHS practices.
  • Supporting other duties across the manufacturing facility as required.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve operational, quality and production objectives.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is reliable, proactive and quality-focused, with the ability to work effectively within a busy manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Good general standard of education.
  • Approximately 5 years' experience in a light mechanical assembly environment or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of manual handling and workplace ergonomics.
  • Ability to work autonomously to written standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Right to Work in the UK

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Understanding of Kanban and Flow/Pull manufacturing techniques.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of VAV and LOTO procedures.
  • Previous experience working within a structured manufacturing environment.

Additional Information

Shift Pattern: Rotating

  • Monday to Friday:6am to 2pm, and,
  • Monday to Friday: 2pm to 10pm
