Project Analyst
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Project Analyst to join our team supporting the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) at their Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL)! This position is full-time and will be based out of Niskayuna, NY and will require the person to be onsite.
Responsibilities
Support construction projects ranging from approximately $3M to $80M at the Knolls Site, with support for the Kesselring Site as needed.
Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules using Primavera.
Create and manage resource-loaded and financial schedules to support project planning and execution.
Track project plans, milestones, schedules, budgets, and overall progress.
Monitor project performance using established project management and project controls techniques.
Perform project risk analysis and identify potential schedule, cost, and resource impacts.
Identify and help resolve resource conflicts, scheduling issues, and project constraints.
Analyze project budgets, cost data, workforce requirements, and resource estimates.
Prepare and maintain performance metrics, reports, and project status information for management and customers.
Develop portions of the Program Management Plan and other supporting project documentation.
Prepare, process, track, and issue project change controls.
Evaluate the effects of proposed changes on project cost, schedule, resources, and performance.
Support project meetings by preparing information, documenting actions, and providing schedule and performance updates.
Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, construction personnel, and other stakeholders to resolve project issues.
Prepare and submit required project reports and management updates.
Assist with project closeout activities, including preparation of final closeout reports and documentation.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience - High School Diploma or higher and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
Clearance - To be considered, you MUST be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance before you can start and have an active DOE "L" Clearance or DOD "Secret" clearance.
Proficiency with project scheduling software, preferably Primavera.
Experience managing, tracking, and analyzing project financial information.
Ability to work with budgets, cost data, forecasts, and financial reporting.
Strong organizational and analytical skills related to project schedules and financial performance.
Desired Skills
Coursework, training, or hands-on experience in project management.
Experience analyzing project performance against established plans, schedules, and objectives.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare, author, or support project submittals and documentation.
Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, such as Power BI, is a plus.
About the Site
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is comprised of the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory located in Niskayuna, New York, the Kesselring Site, located in West Milton, New York, and the Naval Reactor Facility located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Together, they develop advanced technology for the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, ensure the safety and reliability of naval nuclear reactors, and train Sailors who operate reactors in submarines and aircraft carrier fleets (energy.gov).
