Flight Technologies Engineering Manager

GA-ASI has an exciting new opportunity for a Flight Technologies Tools and Support Engineering Manager in Poway, CA. The engineering manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the systems and business processes of the Flight Technologies department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and mentor a team of engineers with a focus on the flight sciences (GNC, aerodynamics, flight performance, and CFD) and specifically the tools that enable their work.
• Manage the compute resources of the department, including maintenance and upgrades.
• Manage the capital expenses for the department.
• Manage software licensing for the department.
• Oversee resource planning for the department.
• Oversee department bid and proposal work.
• Develop and maintain the roadmap for investment in the tools used by the department, to include codes developed internally by the team as well as COTS software packages.
• Recruit, hire, retain, and develop engineers with broad flight sciences backgrounds that align with the development roadmap.
• Closely coordinate resources with other department leaders as needed
