Summary

Are you a software developer who's passionate about quality and innovation? Join our high-performing Quality Engineering team and help shape testing strategy for new features on our ever-growing Genesys Cloud Platform, with a direct hand in delivering exceptional workforce management (WFM) capabilities. This isn't a role focused on running scripts or maintaining pipelines; it's a chance to take a holistic view of quality (manual, automated, accessibility, security, performance, and scalability), partner closely with Product, Development, UX, and Documentation, and use modern AI tooling to work smarter, not just harder. You'll collaborate across multiple teams globally rather than sit inside one narrow silo, and you'll grow your influence as a technical leader in testing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

• Design test strategies for new features on the Genesys Cloud Platform, understanding architecture and design decisions well enough to identify risk before code is written.

• Participate in planning meetings as a member of a cross-functional team (Product Management, Development, UX, Documentation), and help ensure quality is built in at every stage of the SDLC, not just verified at the end.

• Develop test plans, build test environments, and automate test scenarios that go beyond the happy path, covering manual, automated, accessibility, security, performance, and scalability testing.

• Contribute code to a shared automated testing project whose tests run daily and across multiple deployment pipelines.

• Maintain tests and enhance suite reliability by identifying and reducing automated test failures.

• Evaluate the end-user experience of new features and assert overall feature quality, not just technical correctness.

• Collaborate closely with multiple teams globally to align on quality goals and share testing practices.

• Innovate with AI tooling to accelerate QA workflows in feature delivery and to maintain long-term test stability.

Minimum Requirements

Required technical and professional skills, led with the most important:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in software test automation, including designing and implementing test frameworks for scalable applications.

• Object-oriented programming experience with Java or Kotlin.

• Experience with REST API testing, both functional and automated.

• Experience with UI testing tools such as Playwright, Appium or Selenium.

• Experience with test frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit.

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or equivalent.

• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.

• Proficiency with version control (git).

• Proficient in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate coding, debugging, and code review, while maintaining strong judgment and accountability.

• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across Product, Development, UX, and Documentation.

• A holistic mindset toward quality, comfortable owning manual, automated, accessibility, security, performance, and scalability testing, not just automation execution.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with cloud-based testing tools and frameworks, particularly in AWS environments.

• Experience with mobile automation testing using Appium.

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Sumo Logic or New Relic.

• Experience with accessibility and compliance testing (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI).)
