Inviting applications for the role of Data Scientist

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Data Scientist to join our dynamic AI & Analytics team. As a Data Scientist, you will be instrumental in leading complex data science projects, from conceptualization and model development to deployment and impact measurement. You will leverage your deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data engineering to solve critical business problems for our diverse portfolio of global clients. This role requires a strong blend of technical prowess, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication skills to drive innovation and deliver measurable value.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead the end-to-end development and deployment of advanced analytical and machine learning models to address complex business challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to define problem statements, gather requirements, and translate them into robust data science solutions.
  • Drive the strategic direction of data science initiatives, identifying opportunities for innovation and impact across various industries and functions.
• Model Development & Implementation:
  • Design, develop, and implement predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive models using a variety of machine learning techniques (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, reinforcement learning).
  • Conduct rigorous data exploration, feature engineering, and model validation to ensure accuracy, robustness, and interpretability.
  • Optimize model performance and scalability for production environments, collaborating with MLOps and engineering teams.
• Data Analysis & Insight Generation:
  • Perform advanced statistical analysis and data mining on large, complex datasets to uncover actionable insights and trends.
  • Develop compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide expert guidance on experimental design, A/B testing, and causal inference.
• Mentorship & Thought Leadership:
  • Mentor junior data scientists, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and fostering their professional growth.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, applying cutting-edge techniques where appropriate.
  • Contribute to Genpact's thought leadership through internal presentations, external publications, and participation in industry forums.
• Quality & Governance:
  • Ensure the highest standards of data quality, model governance, ethical AI practices, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Document methodologies, code, and findings thoroughly for reproducibility and knowledge sharing

Qualifications we seek in you!

• Relevant hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics, preferably in a consulting or enterprise setting.
• Proven track record of leading and delivering impactful data science projects from inception to production.
• Programming: Expert proficiency in Python (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/Keras/PyTorch) and/or R.
• Data Querying: Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis. Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• MLOps: Familiarity with MLOps principles, tools, and practices for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Statistical Modeling: Deep understanding and application of statistical concepts, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time series analysis, and experimental design.
• Machine Learning: Strong expertise in various machine learning algorithms (e.g., classification, regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, natural language processing, computer vision).
• Data Visualization: Proficiency with tools like Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly for effective data storytelling.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Superior communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with experience mentoring and guiding team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
• High degree of intellectual curiosity and a continuous learning mindset.
• Bachelor's degress in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, or a related quantitative field. A Bachelor's degree with exceptional relevant experience will also be considered.
