Job description_

About the Role_

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will lead key parts of large-scale data center and cloud migration initiatives, ensuring secure, reliable and efficient network operations across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. You will design and execute migrations across AWS and Azure, automate network provisioning and operations using infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices, and drive network redesigns, hardware and certificate lifecycle, and vulnerability remediation in line with enterprise and client standards. You will also act as a technical reference for the team, guiding mid-level engineers and partnering with architecture, security and application teams

A day in this role_

- Lead and execute migrations of cloud accounts (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and Extranet applications from DC5 to DC13.

- Design and implement cloud network architectures in AWS and Azure (VPCs/VNets, Transit Gateway, peering, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, VPN, routing and security controls).

- Drive the migration of AWS accounts to the new AWS Proxy Egress, including connectivity validation and client coordination for whitelisting.

- Automate network provisioning and configuration using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible and Python, integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and application connectivity issues during Cloud9 migrations, acting as escalation point for the team.

- Define firewall rules, application dependency mapping and routing validations for migrated workloads.

- Lead network redesign efforts and own accurate technical documentation and diagrams.

- Prepare and present PSA and ARB submissions and ensure proper service acceptance validation.

- Support client migrations from legacy environments (Allen, McKinney) to Equinix Extranet setups and bring non-standard builds to EEC standards.

- Manage SSL certificate renewals on NetScaler and F5 load balancers, automating renewals where possible.

- Plan and run redundancy and failover testing to validate resiliency across on-premises and cloud environments.

- Lead legacy environment clean-up to streamline infrastructure and support Cloud9 migration and hardware retirement.

- Mentor mid-level engineers, review their changes and promote network automation and best practices.

The expertise requested_

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, including large-scale data center and cloud migrations.

- Expert knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPN/IPsec, NAT, DNS, DHCP).

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS networking: VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, security groups, NACLs and egress/proxy patterns.

- Strong hands-on experience with Azure networking: VNets, peering, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, NSGs, Load Balancer/Application Gateway and Private Link.

- Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, GCP and/or OCI).

- Infrastructure as code with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

- Configuration management and automation with Ansible and Python scripting.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows for network changes (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).

- Experience with F5 and NetScaler load balancers and SSL certificate management.

- Experience with enterprise firewalls and proxies.

- Familiarity with vulnerability management tools (e.g. Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7) and patching workflows.

- Understanding of hardware lifecycle management and redundancy/failover testing.

- Proven ability to lead technical work, mentor engineers and communicate with business and technical stakeholders.

- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills, with fluent English.

Desired or nice to have expertise_

- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700).

- Networking certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.

- HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification.

- Experience with containers and Kubernetes networking (EKS/AKS).

- Experience automating certificate renewals or vulnerability checks.

- Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).

- Experience with network monitoring and observability tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, ThousandEyes).

Our Core values are focus to inclusion and diversity, all qualified applicants will be considered for employment and will go thru a fair recruitment process regardless of their race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin or disability status.
