Office Engineer

The Office Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, coordinating, and controlling engineering documents, construction quantities, cost estimates, and technical information to support project planning, cost management, market research, and management decision-making in real estate development projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Engineering Documentation
- Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and other technical documents.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for consistency and completeness.
- Maintain updated records of engineering documents and revisions.
- Cost Estimation and Analysis
- Assist in preparing construction cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Analyze quantities of construction materials and labor requirements.
- Support cost comparisons between planned budgets, estimated costs, and market prices.
- Identify cost variations and report significant discrepancies to the immediate supervisor.
- Market Research
- Collect and analyze current market prices for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Obtain and compare supplier and contractor quotations.
- Prepare material price comparison reports and maintain a construction cost database.
- Monitor market price trends and provide information for project budgeting.
- Project Coordination
- Coordinate with design, project management, procurement, finance, and construction teams.
- Provide technical information required for tender preparation and contractor evaluation.
- Follow up on technical inquiries and discrepancies in project documents.
- Reporting and Quality Control
- Prepare periodic engineering cost and market research reports.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of BOQs, cost breakdowns, and supporting documents.
- Ensure that engineering documents are properly filed and accessible.
Perform other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor
Requirements
BSc degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, or a related field, with 2-4 years relevant work experience in engineering cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and construction market research.
