At Gills Point S, our people are at the heart of what we do. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an HR Specialist who can help create a positive employee experience while keeping the day-to-day details of HR running smoothly.

The HR Specialist is a key member of the HR team, supporting employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle-from onboarding and benefits orientation through employee changes and offboarding. This role manages employee information in our HRIS, supports HR communications and reporting, assists with recruiting and payroll, and helps ensure HR processes are completed accurately and consistently.

We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, approachable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. The right person will enjoy being a resource for employees and managers, have strong attention to detail, and be willing to jump in wherever the HR team needs support.

What You'll Do

Recruiting Support

  • Support job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and other recruiting activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and help provide a positive candidate experience.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, references, and drug screening when applicable.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and the Recruiting team to prepare offer letters and other hiring documentation.
  • Provide recruiting coverage and support when needed.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Manage and complete pre-hire and onboarding activities, including background checks, HRIS data entry, paperwork, and other new-hire requirements.
  • Facilitate new-hire and benefits orientations.
  • Ensure onboarding activities are completed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Coordinate the administrative process for employee separations and offboarding.
  • Conduct or coordinate exit interviews and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Manage employee apparel ordering and distribution.
  • Coordinate business card orders for new and existing employees as needed.

HR & Employee Support

  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers, responding to routine HR questions and directing more complex issues to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Process employee changes and maintain accurate employee information in the HRIS.
  • Assist with internal HR communications, including the HR newsletter and employee announcements.
  • Create standard and ad hoc employee reports as requested.
  • Help maintain HR documentation, processes, and resources.
  • Support HR projects and other initiatives as needed.

Payroll & Compliance Support

  • Provide backup support for payroll processing to help ensure accurate and timely payroll.
  • Set up and maintain employee garnishments, including child support orders, in accordance with applicable laws and deadlines.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate employee records and completing HR processes in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
  • Provide cross-functional support to the HR team as needed.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, HR administration, recruiting, payroll, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with an HRIS system; Paylocity experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, confidential employee information.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative member of the HR team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business applications.
  • HR certification or related education is a plus.
