Application Architect

Role & Responsibilities :
- Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance application architectures aligned with business requirements.
- Translate business and technical requirements into robust application architecture and technical solutions.
- Define application components, integrations, APIs, data flows, and technology standards.
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise applications using modern technologies and architectural patterns.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, platforms, and tools.
- Ensure applications follow best practices for scalability, performance, security, reliability, maintainability, and observability.
- Design and oversee integration between applications, databases, third-party systems, and cloud services.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to software engineers and development teams.
- Review technical designs, architecture documents, code, and implementation approaches.
- Identify technical risks, architectural gaps, and opportunities for modernization or optimization.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, DevOps, QA, Security, Infrastructure, and other stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, and design guidelines.
- Support cloud adoption, application modernization, migration, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex production and performance issues and provide long-term architectural solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their potential application within the organization.
Preferred Candidate Profile :
- 8-10 years of experience in software/application development, solution design, or application architecture.
- Strong experience in designing and developing enterprise-grade applications.
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, SOLID principles, and SDLC practices.
- Hands-on experience with one or more programming ecosystems such as Java/Spring Boot, .NET/C#, Python, Node.js, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, messaging, and system integration.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud-native architecture.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of application security, authentication/authorization, API security, and secure coding practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
- Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring to development teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with architecture documentation and diagrams using tools such as UML, C4 Model, or similar approaches.
- Exposure to performance engineering, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, and observability is desirable.
- Experience in application modernization, legacy transformation, or cloud migration would be an advantage.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure/GCP, TOGAF, or other architecture certifications are a plus.
