Software Development Lead

Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of software developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and performance feedback.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance software applications.
- Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and actionable development plans.
- Drive software architecture, design decisions, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, UI/UX, and other cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time.
- Review code and ensure adherence to quality, security, scalability, and maintainability standards.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, production incidents, and performance bottlenecks.
- Participate in technology selection and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and development practices.
- Establish and track development timelines, priorities, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Promote automation, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and other engineering practices that improve development efficiency.
- Ensure applications are designed with appropriate security, reliability, scalability, and performance considerations.
- Provide technical estimates and contribute to project planning and resource allocation.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the organization's technology stack.
- Take ownership of technical deliverables and ensure successful execution from concept through production.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 - 10 years of professional experience in software development, with relevant experience in a senior/lead engineering role.
- Strong hands-on programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or similar.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience designing and developing scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications.
- Good knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, databases, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, and modern software development practices.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop software engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with technical leadership and people management.
- Strong ownership mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality software.
- Experience in system design, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting would be an advantage.
