Google is an American technology company founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and now the principal subsidiary of Alphabet, headquartered in Mountain View, California. It operates the world's dominant search engine and the advertising system built around it, along with YouTube, Android, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, Workspace and Google Cloud, reaching billions of users across nearly every internet-connected market. The company designs its own silicon in the Tensor Processing Unit line, develops the Gemini foundation models through Google DeepMind, and derives most of its revenue from advertising while cloud has become its fastest growing segment.

About the job

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Every day is a new challenge, and you're continually looking for ways to help our team become more efficient and effective. A team player at heart, you collaborate with our global team, advocate best practices and pitch in where needed. You move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support business objectives.

You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

As a key architect within the Global Revenue and Expense (GRX) Controllership, you will build exceptional reporting systems powering global growth. You will be at the forefront of financial innovation, scaling accounting solutions and pioneering AI-driven automation for the expense and payments controllership.

You will actively engineer the future of finance by designing robust data flows for zero-to-one product launches, accelerating and executing the next-generation month-end close processes, and modernizing risk governance frameworks. You will transform complex global workflows into high-speed, automated financial operations that directly accelerate Google's most strategic initiatives.

The Expense and Payments team partners with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to design and implement accounting and process enhancements across Google’s Payment's business. In this role, you will scale complex accounting solutions by designing internally developed and Engineering-supported solutions built for the future.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
