Google is an American technology company founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and now the principal subsidiary of Alphabet, headquartered in Mountain View, California. It operates the world's dominant search engine and the advertising system built around it, along with YouTube, Android, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, Workspace and Google Cloud, reaching billions of users across nearly every internet-connected market. The company designs its own silicon in the Tensor Processing Unit line, develops the Gemini foundation models through Google DeepMind, and derives most of its revenue from advertising while cloud has become its fastest growing segment.

About the job

At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Interaction Designers transform complex tasks into intuitive, easy-to-use experiences for billions of people. From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

The Access Everywhere (AEv) team builds the core authentication, authorization, and sign-in experiences that anchor Google's ecosystem across first-party products and third-party (3P) websites and applications.

As we enter an agentic era where autonomous AI agents, non-deterministic interfaces, ambient computing, and delegated actions re-shape digital interactions, sign-in and identity permissioning must evolve. The Senior Interaction Designer for Access Everywhere will collaborate with key partners on developing and/or evolving concepts for how users authenticate, delegate authority, and manage credentials safely and effortlessly.

This role focuses on envisioning next-generation identity concepts, creating high-impact pitches in a fast-paced environment, and modernizing foundational third-party identity journeys and the developer experience to support AI-driven delegation and contextual authentication.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Redesign and scale existing authentication flows to balance user velocity with enterprise-grade privacy and security.
  • Architect state-aware interaction models for AI-driven delegation, enabling users to grant contextual, scoped, and time-bound permissions to agents interacting with 3P services.
  • Partner closely with UX, Product, Engineering, and Research to translate complex backend protocols into intuitive, seamless user journeys.
  • Identify emerging UX patterns and integration frameworks to ensure consistent, trustworthy Google authentication experiences across Google and external platforms.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing for both enterprise and consumer-facing products.
  • Knowledge of identity/security paradigms and 3P developer ecosystem needs.
  • Ability to synthesize ambiguous technical requirements into compelling user-centric narratives and present strategic concepts to senior engineering and product executives.
