As a lead architect within the GKE Networking team, you won’t just be maintaining infrastructure; you will be defining the nervous system of the world’s most advanced cloud platform. You will own the architectural evolution of networking capabilities that power "megaclusters"-systems of unprecedented scale-and purpose-built networking for the next generation of AI/ML training and Agentic workflows.

Responsibilities
- Own and lead the roadmap for GKE Networking, driving the evolution of virtualization solutions that support tens of thousands of nodes and beyond.
- Design and develop high-performance networking solutions specifically optimized for large-scale model training, low-latency GPU communication, and autonomous agentic workloads.
- Lead the design of both data plane and control plane elements, pushing the boundaries of network connectivity, security, and service mesh technologies.
- Partner cross-functionally with GKE Platform and Cloud Networking teams to unify Google’s networking fabric.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with Kubernetes, Go, or micro-services.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience with Linux networking stack.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
