Google is an American technology company founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and now the principal subsidiary of Alphabet, headquartered in Mountain View, California. It operates the world's dominant search engine and the advertising system built around it, along with YouTube, Android, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, Workspace and Google Cloud, reaching billions of users across nearly every internet-connected market. The company designs its own silicon in the Tensor Processing Unit line, develops the Gemini foundation models through Google DeepMind, and derives most of its revenue from advertising while cloud has become its fastest growing segment.

About the job

At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Interaction Designers transform complex tasks into intuitive, easy-to-use experiences for billions of people. From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

The Google Beam UX team works on cutting-edge technologies to enable the next generation of immersive experiences and platforms. We design, prototype, and research the experiences and interactions that set the direction for Google's emerging products in 3D video calling; experiences that deliver on a promise to provide our users with lovable, approachable, and truly helpful technology.

In this role, you will help craft a multi-year product goal and design detailed, ship-ready experiences that align cross-functional stakeholders in a cohesive, collaborative way. You will solve highly ambiguous spatial and system interaction challenges, establishing robust design quality processes, and leading design alignment with key partners. You will apply your passion for craft to bridge UX exploration and engineering execution, pioneer interactive prototyping workflows, leveraging AI tools, and define generative AI futures for 3D communication.

Google Beam is a true-to-life new communication technology from Google that allows people to feel like they’re having real face-to-face conversations, no matter the distance. Powered by realistic state-of-the-art 3D imaging and spatial audio and integrated with today’s leading remote video platforms, Google Beam enables you to be immersed in the moment, together. As a part of the Google Beam team, you'll work with incredible teammates across all major functions in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Your contributions will have an impact on the future of communications with Google products. You will apply technology to solve that really important problem that we often want to be together and we can’t.
