You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
This team's mission is to secure network infrastructure for the Google Cloud and Production network. The team includes subject matter experts that are comfortable designing network solutions that involve colocation space, and cable landing stations. We structure deals to acquire existing networks or build new assets to meet the needs of the business. This role involves interfacing with the internal teams and external vendors in order to deliver these complex solutions.
In this role, you will own and drive projects related to network deliverables, and provide overall support to the Network Planning, Acquisition, and Deployment teams on scoping and managing orders and deployments of network elements. You will work closely with Google’s third party telecom and colocation vendors, managing their deliverables while keeping an eye on the bottom line, and driving cost effective solutions.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $138000 - $197000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure that projects are scoped properly and handed off seamlessly during the lifecycle of network orders for space and power, fiber optic, and wavelength services.
- Prepare or review drawings, maps, scopes of work and other materials, as needed, to clearly describe projects to external vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and manage bid processing across multiple vendors, evaluate alternatives and develop cost estimates for project-specific feasibility studies.
- Provide overall support to the Network Planning, Acquisition, and Deployment teams on scoping and managing orders and deployments of network elements such as dark fiber and data center infrastructure.
- Work closely with Google’s third party telecom and colocation vendors, managing their deliverables while keeping an eye on the bottom line, and driving cost effective solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in program management.
- Experience in managing fiber construction projects.
- Experience with inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in managing large, complex, fiber construction projects with robust knowledge of inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure.
- 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience working with permitting agencies, and in selecting, hiring and managing contractors including managing the bidding processes, providing oversight of financial analytics of each bid, and negotiation terms and conditions of any contractual arrangements.
- Experience with creating network drawings, route maps and scopes of work.
- Experience in Cloud Networking.
- Ability to interpret fiber test results and audit projects for compliance with scopes of work.
