Help Shape the Future of Singapore's Foreign Service

Singapore's ability to safeguard its sovereignty and advance its interests does not happen by chance. Behind every diplomatic engagement, international partnership, consular operation and foreign policy decision are people, systems and digital capabilities that enable Singapore to safeguard its interests in an increasingly complex world.

At GovTech, forward deployed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), you will build digital products and platforms that support how Singapore conducts diplomacy, serves Singaporeans overseas and strengthens its engagement with international partners. These are not experimental projects or isolated prototypes - they are mission-critical systems used by MFA officers across headquarters and overseas missions every day.

You will be part of a team modernising digital services, improving operational resilience and reimagining how technology can empower Singapore's Foreign Service to navigate an evolving global landscape while advancing Singapore's interests.

[What you will be working on]

We're looking for a Designer to join the Design team and help shape the future of digital products and services that support Singapore's Foreign Service.

MFA is modernising the digital capabilities that enable diplomacy, consular services and international engagement. These digital platforms support officers across headquarters and Singapore's overseas missions, empowering them to collaborate effectively, respond to evolving global developments and deliver trusted services to Singaporeans and international partners.

As a Designer, you'll own the design of features and user journeys across internal and citizen-facing products, partnering closely with product managers, engineers, policy officers, foreign service officers and fellow designers to understand user needs, uncover opportunities and deliver intuitive digital experiences.

You'll apply user-centred design, systems thinking and research to translate complex operational and policy requirements into thoughtful, accessible and scalable solutions. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you'll contribute to end-to-end product delivery while collaborating with the team to continuously improve the quality and consistency of MFA's digital products.

[What we are looking for]  

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field

• Proven experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and outcomes

• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar

• Solid understanding of user-centred design principles, information architecture, and usability best practices

• Experience conducting user research and translating findings into actionable design insights

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment

• Experience with government or public sector projects is a plus

• Lead key projects and making independent decisions that align with user needs and product goals
