SDE III - Java

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer - SDE-3 with strong expertise in Java and Apache Kafka to design, develop, and scale high-performance distributed systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in backend development, microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and distributed computing. The candidate should be comfortable owning complex technical problems, driving engineering best practices, and mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java.
• Build and manage distributed systems and microservices-based architectures.
• Develop event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
• Design Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and consumer groups.
• Build highly available, fault-tolerant, and low-latency backend services.
• Work on system design, architecture decisions, and performance optimization.
• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of experience in backend software development.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java (Java 8/11/17 or above).
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Excellent understanding of microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, collections, and JVM fundamentals.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of DSA, OOPS, and design patterns.
• Experience with system design, HLD, and LLD.
