Spun off from XPO Logistics in 2021 and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it operates hundreds of sites in more than 25 countries across North America and Europe, serving sectors such as retail, consumer goods, technology, aerospace and data centers. It hires warehouse operatives, PIT operators, drivers, dock coordinators, shift supervisors and operations managers, along with automation technicians, finance business partners and program managers.

Do you have the technical expertise to support complex automation systems while developing and mentoring engineering teams? Can you balance people leadership, equipment reliability and operational priorities to deliver outstanding engineering performance? Are you passionate about driving continuous improvement and creating a high-performing engineering culture where safety and reliability come first?

Exciting things are happening at GXO! We're delighted to announce the expansion of our Fashion & Apparel operations with the launch of our newest distribution site in Burnley (BB10). Following significant investment, this site is being brought back to life and will become a key part of our growing UK network.

As an Engineering Team Leader, you'll support the Engineering Team Manager in leading and developing a high-performing engineering function within a highly automated environment. Combining technical expertise with people leadership, you'll help drive equipment reliability, support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure maintenance activities are delivered safely and effectively.

A superb opportunity to join a major site launch and help build a world-class engineering function, leading teams, processes and performance from the very beginning.

This is a full time, permanent position working a 4 on and 4 off rotating shift pattern of days and nights, 06:00 to 18:00 and 18:00 to 06:00

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £62,000.00 per annum, and 23.5 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). • Support equipment reliability through preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and root cause analysis activities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity and operational performance
  • Coordinate contractors, engineering resources and maintenance activities to maximise site efficiency
  • Monitor engineering KPIs, compliance standards and maintenance records to ensure operational excellence

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experience within an automated engineering, logistics, manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Strong technical knowledge including electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding and reliability improvement
