Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team and help us ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems.

Main responsibilities

• Hands-on administration of Windows and Linux servers, including user and group management, patching, routine maintenance, and first-level troubleshooting.

• Support and maintenance of mail services, including mailbox administration, distribution groups, basic configuration, and operational support.

• Strong focus on networking fundamentals, including DNS, IP addressing, routing, switching, firewalls, and day-to-day connectivity troubleshooting.

• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of infrastructure, systems, and services in both office and datacenter environments.

• Basic scripting and automation for operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Javascript, or similar tools.

• Support of web and application services such as IIS, Apache, Haproxy and Nginx, including basic configuration and maintenance.

• Participation in datacenter activities such as rack and stack, cabling, hardware replacement, and maintaining accurate documentation and asset records.

• Participation in shift-based operational coverage. 16/5 currently, may expand in the future to 24/5(Monday-Friday)

Required skills and experience

• Good practical knowledge of networking and troubleshooting, with confidence in working with DNS, IP addressing, subnet and related connectivity issues.

• Experience administering Windows and Linux systems in an operational environment.

• Basic understanding of virtualization and high availability concepts such as Hyper-V, VMware, clustering, and failover.

• Basic knowledge of scripting or automation with PowerShell, Bash, Shell, or similar tools.

• Good troubleshooting mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to follow operational procedures.

• Working proficiency in English.

Nice to have

The following are considered an advantage during the interview process, but are not mandatory:

• Exposure to Microsoft Exchange and/or Microsoft 365 administration.

• Experience with load balancing concepts such as L4/L7, VIPs, health checks, reverse proxies, and basic TLS/certificate handling.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging platforms such as Zabbix, Graylog, Datadog, or similar systems.

• Exposure to container and automation technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, and Git-based workflows.

• Basic experience with databases and data platforms, including backup/restore workflows and exposure to systems such as MongoDB Atlas.

• Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure DevOps, Azure Function Apps, Application Gateways, Azure Data Factory, and other cloud infrastructure components.

• Understanding of hardware and datacenter fundamentals, including RAID, remote management, firmware lifecycle, and hardware replacement procedures.

• Networking knowledge beyond the basics, such as VLANs, LACP, switch configuration/CLI, and general Layer 2/Layer 3 troubleshooting.
