Visit this page to explore more about Hafnia - The Forward-Thinking Tanker Company.

Are you interested in working in one of the world's leading tanker shipping companies where our "People-First' mindset and ambitions towards a more sustainable maritime future, promote a strong commercial mindset and performance-based culture?

Then join us as an Operator.

At Hafnia, we transport energy resources around the globe. With a strong commitment to sustainability, safety and innovation, Hafnia is built on our values of Collaboration, Ambition, Reliability, and Enduring where every team member is empowered to contribute to our mission and make a difference.

Our long-term approach is founded on the principle of a commercial mindset, integrity, and putting people first. That is how we have become one of the leading ship owners and operators of today's tanker industry globally.

What does the job entail?

We are looking for a motivated, energetic, digitally savvy, and ambitious Operator to join our Operations team in Houston.

You will join a truly global team, working closely with colleagues in Copenhagen, Singapore, and Dubai, as well as our colleagues at sea.

In Houston, you will take responsibility for the daily commercial operation of several vessels across our Pools, covering Specialized, Handy, MR, LR1, LR2, Chemical, and Panamax vessels trading Chemical, CPP, and DPP cargoes. This exposure means every day brings different voyages, challenges, customers, and stakeholders, so being able to juggle priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment is key.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include voyage bunker planning, tank cleaning, optimizing cargo intake and stowage, appointing agents and coordinating port calls, sanctions screening, monitoring speed and consumption, and plenty more. The goal is simple: keep our vessels moving efficiently while maximizing voyage performance and TCE.

Relationships are equally important. You will work closely with customers, pool partners, technical managers, agents, vessels, and colleagues across Operations, Technical, Commercial, and Claims. Clear and confident communication, both verbal and written, is therefore an important part of the job.

You will also contribute to fleet performance, emissions optimization, sustainability initiatives, and the continued use of data and digital tools to improve how we operate our vessels. From time to time, you may participate in broader projects, giving you exposure across Hafnia's global organization and its short- and long-term goals.

Above all, we are looking for an honest, proactive team player who takes ownership, looks out for the team, and takes pride in doing the job well.

  • Valid work permit for employment in USA.
  • A strong ability to collaborate in a team and act as a reliable team player.
  • A minimum of 5 years of operational experience with a Ship Owner, Operator or Charterer.
  • Experience could also incorporate sailing experience on an Oil / Chemical tanker (preferred).
  • Self-driven, capable and comfortable working independently in a high intensity, multi-national environment.
  • Ambitious and enjoys challenges with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to navigate digital tools and platforms. Experience with following systems is a benefit: SEDNA, IMOS VIP and Microsoft Office.

If the above resonates with you and you think you can contribute, we are excited to hear from you!

We will be interviewing throughout the application period and may close the position once we have found the right candidate.
