Our Software Solutions organization builds the products that power video management, access control, AI, and cloud security for customers worldwide, including BLAZE, our unified VMS, Access Control, and Direct-to-Cloud platform. We work across a globally distributed team spanning our US operations and Korean headquarters to ship products that protect people, buildings, and businesses.

Hanwha Vision is hiring a Director, Product Management to own our Access Control product line. This is a player-coach role: you will manage a team of product managers while remaining deeply hands-on with roadmap, requirements, and day-to-day execution. We have significant new capability to build, including the buildout of BLAZE Access Control as part of our Unified Platform consolidation, and we need a leader who can both set direction and personally drive features from concept through launch.

You will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for our Access Control portfolio, spanning cloud-managed software and hardware, and will work closely with engineering (US and Korea), UX, sales, channel partners, and Korean HQ stakeholders. This role reports to the Head of Software Product Management and manages a team of product managers supporting Access Control.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Roadmap

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Hanwha Vision's Access Control line, including its integration into the unified BLAZE platform
• Develop and defend prioritization frameworks that balance customer needs, SI/channel partner requirements, technical feasibility, and business objectives
• Represent Access Control in company-wide platform planning alongside Video, Direct-to-Cloud, and Agentic AI workstreams

Hands-On Execution

• Personally author PRDs, user stories, and detailed requirements for priority features, particularly where the team is still building foundational capability
• Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery through delivery, working directly with engineering in daily standups and sprint planning, not just at milestone reviews
• Stay close to escalations, hard deployment dates, and critical-path items, and be willing to dig into the details personally when a launch is at risk

Domain and Technical Depth

• Bring hands-on depth across the access control stack: mobile and multi-factor credentialing (BLE/NFC, PKI-based credentials), high-availability controller architectures and failover/degraded-mode behavior at scale (multi-site, thousands of doors), and convergence use cases that tie access events to video and analytics
• Make and defend architecture trade-offs for edge, server, and cloud-managed deployments, including how identity, policy, and event data synchronize across hybrid topologies with intermittent connectivity
• Guide how AI and agentic capabilities (for example, anomaly detection on access patterns, automated credential lifecycle management, forensic investigation support) get incorporated into the access control roadmap as part of BLAZE's broader Agentic AI direction

Team Leadership

• Manage, coach, and grow a team of product managers, setting clear goals and reviewing their roadmaps and requirements
• Model rigorous product craft (customer discovery, PRD quality, metrics discipline) for the broader team
• Balance team capacity against a demanding roadmap, and know when to step in individually versus delegate

Customer and Market Insight

• Lead customer discovery, interviews, and win/loss reviews with SI partners, integrators, and end customers (education, healthcare, commercial real estate, government)
• Conduct competitive analysis across the access control landscape to inform positioning and roadmap
• Define and track success metrics (adoption, channel activations, deployment health) and report on product performance post-launch

Cross-Functional and Cross-Regional Collaboration

• Serve as the subject-matter authority on Access Control for sales, marketing, and executive stakeholders in both the US and Korea
• Support go-to-market planning, sales enablement, and partner-facing materials, including pricing and licensing structure input
• Communicate roadmap and trade-offs clearly across a bilingual, cross-cultural organization spanning US operations and Korean HQ

Qualifications:

Required

• 8+ years of product management experience, including 2+ years directly managing product managers
• Hands-on product management experience in access control, physical security, or a closely related B2B hardware/software category (video surveillance, IoT security, building technology)
• Proficient knowledge of access control concepts: credential types, controllers/readers, access levels and schedules, RBAC, and either on-premise or cloud-managed (ACaaS) deployment models
• Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and tactical altitude, comfortable writing a PRD one day and presenting roadmap to executives the next
• Track record of shipping B2B hardware-attached software products through a full lifecycle, from discovery to GA to post-launch iteration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executives and cross-functional stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Preferred

• Experience with OSDP/Wiegand protocols, ONVIF standards, or SI/channel-partner go-to-market models
• Experience integrating or unifying multiple product lines onto a common platform
• Familiarity with cloud architecture and hardware-software bundling strategies
• Experience working with distributed teams across US and Asia-Pacific, including comfort with async collaboration across time zones
• Korean language proficiency is a plus, though not required
• MBA or advanced technical degree

Physical Demands:

• Sitting/Travel : The role requires extended periods of sitting, including time spent traveling by car or plane, attending meetings, and working on a laptop or mobile devices while in offices, client locations, or remote settings. The position also involves periods of standing and walking during client visits and events.
