As a Data Engineer at HBF, you’ll play a key role in building and optimising the data pipelines, models and assets that power analytics, insights and decision-making across the organisation.
Working within our cloud-first data ecosystem, you’ll collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and high-quality data solutions that support HBF’s growth and digital transformation.
In this role, you will:
- Build, maintain and optimise scalable data pipelines and integrations using AWS, SQL and modern data engineering tools.
- Develop robust data models and database designs to support analytics, reporting and operational data needs.
- Assemble and prepare complex data sets from diverse sources to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design and implement process improvements such as automation, pipeline optimisation and infrastructure enhancements.
- Support stakeholders and cross-functional teams in solving data-related issues and enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Contribute to solution design, documentation, testing and handover processes across the data engineering lifecycle.
About You
You’re a collaborative and solutions-focused data engineer who thrives in a cloud-based, agile environment. You bring strong technical expertise across modern data platforms, paired with the ability to communicate effectively, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality data products that support meaningful business outcomes.
Ideally, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience with cloud data technologies, ideally across AWS, Snowflake, DBT Cloud or similar platforms.
- Strong data modelling capability with hands-on skills in schema design, data management and building consumable data products.
- Advanced database development skills, including SQL and performance optimisation.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL and/or PySpark, plus familiarity with DevOps tools and version control.
- Highly developed communication, collaboration and workload-management skills in a fast-paced, agile environment.
